Old Sketches

Half of the reason I started this blog was to have a place to share my art work. I really like to draw. The only problem is that I don't really like to finish things.

If I can just fill a page up with people's heads, why draw a finished piece of artwork, amiright??

It's a problem . . .

This year, for the first time in a long time, I actually drew a finished piece of artwork. For our town's fair. I did get a 1st place ribbon, so that was nice.

For clarification, If you enter in art, it's pretty easy to win 1st or 2nd. You're pretty much guaranteed to. Like, everyone who enters art could potentially could end up with 1st place. It's different.

All that being said, I don't have enough finished pieces of artwork for a whole blog post. So I decided to post some of the nicest pages from some of my old sketch books. And insult them, because even if they are the nicest pages. They are still pretty insultable. :D

Yep, this is 90% of my sketch books. Just... disembodied heads.

This be Myles. I think this is a pretty good sketch actually. Probably because I'm 99% sure it was drawn this year.

A mildly frightening mouse, that I actually painted this year for the town fair. I didn't end up entering it. 😂

I'm not sure how old this sketch is. I'm going to guess 2023. Nothing to roast here, except for the guy on the left. His eyebrows and his deformed eyes both look like they are his eyes and it confuses me every time I look at this picture. I could also insult the animals, but they were meant to look that way. It's a vibe, as the kids say.

This might be from 2023. Or maybe from this year? Is the girl with the braid Verity?? I'm not sure. The other people are friends of Myles.

This is probably from 2021. I think. This was a story idea about a group of mail carriers, but in a LotR-esqe setting. It's funny looking back on this sketch, because everyone is making the same weird face. Like they saw something that is mildly annoying them and they're trying not to react or something. Except for the guy in the bottom corner. He's just.. not ok. And the other guy's cape looks weird. Probably in part because he has no hands.

It's Christmas Caroling mice. I drew this in 2021 I think. These are nice mice, nothing to critique here. Except the sketch lines in the green mouse's hood. And they didn't give the mouse on the left a song book. Rude. Unless of course, he just forgot his at home.

From now on, I hope to post more finished artwork. I'm aiming on at least once a month? That goal might help. :)
